ARTIST'S BOOKS [2005-2010]
COMME UNE CHORALE DE VOIX DANS LA TÊTE [2010]
Audio Book, 19 min 53 sec (with reading control device)
Text and sound piece for 9 voices, based on binaural recording techniques - a system that allows, with the use of headphones, to reconstruct the three-dimensional space of perception. The sound piece is accompanied with a publication reflecting the narratives patterns of these voices, sometimes blending in almost perfect synchronization, but other times blurring into a confused rumour.
331 QUESTIONS POSÉES PAR D’AUTRES ET AUTANT RÉPONDUES PAR MOI [2009]
Audio book, 331 pages, 31 min 25 sec.
A publication gathers 331 questions asked to the artist by the public, via a request made on the Internet. The soundtrack features the artist's voice answering all the questions, but without any link between the two.
I didn't know what to say. So I asked to be brought up to speak. There was no prescribed rule. You just had to write to me and ask me a question - any question. In exchange, I promised to tell the truth. I didn't expect anything. In fact, I expected everything. I wanted to believe that I was competent enough to answer all these questions. My truth versus the truth: I wanted to quantify modesty, to know who would dare to ask me what, to see how long I would keep playing the game. I received 331 questions, I offered 331 answers. All the questions were filed and archived within a publication: I classified other people's words as I always classified my own. The accompanying soundtrack played each of my answers in a burst: the answers in the same order as the questions, but without a direct link between the two. It was a speech leading to the loss of meaning, explanations that explained nothing at all. It was a voice that needed the experience of the other in order to find its own echo.

(I've always been afraid of ghosts. Really.) A work that focuses on the relationship between text and image, between photography and printmaking.
